The premium do it all mountain bike for racers and riders out there looking to have a damn good time, the Yeti SB165. With well, 165mm rear travel, matched to a 180mm fork this bike can take on the wildest terrain you can dream of without flinching. Thanks to the innovative and somewhat futuristic 'switch infinity' linkage the SB165 still has what it takes to get you to the top and let you do it all again. This makes it the perfect chassis for Ben so we set about putting on the perfect build kit to match.
Matching that classy Kashima switch infinity linkage is a full suite of Fox Factory suspension with the 36 up front, DHX2 coil shock on the rear and Fox Transfer seat post sitting proudly on top. The gold 'Kashima' coat is an easy way to recognise the Fox 'Factory' series product, the pinnacle of Fox's suspension range. The best from Fox for the best long travel 27.5" frame Yeti have ever made!
The We Are One Convert rims on Hydra hubs make for a super strong carbon MTB wheelset with a 35mm internal profile. This wider internal width allows for a open tyre profile that enhances grip, a great match for the SB165. The Industry Nine Hydra hubs use leaf springs across their impressive 690 points of engagement, minimising drag and maximising speed. Finished with Maxxis MTB tyres front and rear for all the grip needed to push this big bike hard in the corners.
A new Sram X0 drivetrain eagle drivetrain ties the whole bike together. The wide range 52 tooth cassette in 'lunar' grey looks great on the rear with the matching derailleur, carbon cranks and shifter tying in nicely. Matched with the Sram Code RSC brakeset it's an unreal groupset.
This bike even looks fun to ride standing still. We're wrapped with how this has come together in the For The Riders Brisbane MTB workshop and know Ben will enjoy it!
