The Ibis Mojo HD 5 is a 27.5" brawler of a bike that looks like it's just begging to be ridden hard. 170mm of front travel and 153mm rear on 27.5" wheels backs this theory up. That 153mm of rear travel is supplied through the famous 'DW-Link' from Dave Weagle. The same linkage design that took Sam Hill to the top of the world Cup podiums refined to an Enduro bike application. Combine this with the smooth, distinct curves of the Ibis and you have one amazing chassis to build from.
Up front the Fox 36 Factory Fork handles the rough stuff with ease, well supported by the Fox Float X2 rear shock for a balanced bike. The responsibility of stopping this fast bike falls into the hands of the Sram Code R brakes. Four pistons of power and a comfortable lever feel, one of our most popular brake options for a reason!
This bike also gave us our first look at the new Sram GX 12 speed drivetrain. The drivetrain features an updated derailleur, new cassette with a massive 52t cog and revised colours / graphics. First impressions of this drivetrain are really high, Sram have made some minor changes to the rear mech to create smoother shifting across the cassette including to the large 52t cog. It's an 'evolution' of the current range not a 'revolution' but a very welcome one none the less.
Completed with a Race Face cockpit, Ibis wheels and Maxxis tyres front and rear this is one tidy ride. We're proud to see this one roll out of the For The Riders Brisbane workshop and know it will have already mastered a descent or two.
