The most 'hardcore hardtail' we could've ever imagined. We've put together this unreal Norco Torrent custom for Cam from Dirt Skills, tailor made for his hard charging style. It's unique in many ways so let's get into some of these details!
With only one end of suspension you need to make it count and what better way to ensure it does than an Ohlins RXF 36. These dependable units are a dream to ride! Sitting atop the Ohlins fork is the Chromag OSX 35 handlebar matched to the Chromag BZA stem. Tough components designed and tested against the most brutal terrain Whistler has to offer.
Now thing's start to really stray from the norm, a ten speed Shimano Saint shifter / derailleur on a Shimano Ultegra cassette. Cam has plenty of power in his legs so doesn't need a big dinner plate sized cassette, having this tighter gear ratio gives him more even and consistent shifting as he slides through the gears. The Shimano trend continues with the four piston XT M8120 trail brakes, plenty of power even for big riders like Cam.
The wheelset was hand built in the For The Riders Brisbane workshop, Hope Pro 4 hubs on DT Swiss EX511 rims. A dependable and strong wheelset, exactly what is needed for this rough and tough hardtail. Cam has already spent some time on Goodyear MTB tyres and was excited to build up this hardtail with a Newton ST front and Newton rear.
We're stoked to build Cam another ripping bike and see him go hard on the thing all across the Brisbane MTB trails!
