Chris's Forbidden Druid

Posted by Chris Dalziel on

After sampling the Forbidden fruit the choice was made and Chris set himself the task of choosing the build kit for his next dream bike, a Forbidden Druid. With 130mm of rear travel paired to a 140mm or 150mm fork rolling on 29" wheels the Druid is one of, if not the most capable trail bike in it's class. Coming off a stunning ride previously the new bike has big shoes to fill.

This bike is decked out in a sweet black and red theme which makes the red Rockshox Lyrik ultimate the perfect match, not just looking good but feeling silky smooth on the trail. Working with the red theme is a clean Sram X01 drivetrain with alloy cranks. This setup gives riders that precision X01 shifting performance while keeping costs lower, saving some money on carbon cranks if riders can manage the weight penalty. Sram Code RSC brakes finish off the Sram groupset with undeniable stopping power and control through their highly adjustable lever.

Even the DT Swiss wheel decals match in nicely for this build, the DT Swiss 350 hubs on XM481 rims is a high performance alloy wheelset ideal for Brisbane trail / all mountain riders. Finished off with a Chromag BZA cockpit, Goodyear mountain bike tyres and custom red Forbidden down tube sticker this bike looks incredible. We're wrapped to have built up this Forbidden Druid in the For The Riders Brisbane MTB store and even more so to hear how happy Chris is with the ride of the bike!
