Simon doesn't hold back with his mountain biking, coming from a DH background and having sent some of the biggest MTB jumps in Queensland he goes hard to say the least. After a trail bike to keep up with his fast riding style he took the Forbidden Druid out for a demo. After riding it the decision was made and the build process begun.
Simon wrapped the frame with clear paint protection before we put the beast together to make sure it stays fresh! Starting from the front the Ohlins RXF 36 coil fork really sets the tone for this bike, hard and fast! The Renthal Fatbar Carbon handlebar with ODI Elite Pro grips will be in charge of pointing the bike where it needs to go.
Keeping things in said direction is the Maxxis Minion DHF up front and Maxxis Aggressor on the rear, a proven choice for the loose Brisbane MTB terrain. A super strong wheelset in the form of DT Swiss FR560 rims on Hope Pro 4 hubs hand built in the For The Riders workshop is bolted in, tough enough to handle the thrashing Simon will give them.
The drivetrain and braking responsibilities are left in the safe hands of the new Shimano XT groupset. Powerful four piston brakes to slow things down and the easy shifting and gearing of a wide range cassette. What's not to like?
Finished off with a host of other quality parts and we've got one exceptionally nice, exceptionally custom, Forbidden Druid. We've already seen photos of Simon launching the bike into the air on just his second ride at the local Brisbane MTB trails, it's a perfect match.
