2020 Santa Cruz Hightower 2.0

Posted by Chris Dalziel on

The original Hightower captured many riders as an all conquering 29" trail bike. For 2020 Santa Cruz have taken it one step further, reinventing the bike with the Hightower 2.0. As riders have been craving, this bike is longer and slacker than previous models with a steeper seat tube angle. Perfect for taking on the rougher and faster tracks we find ourselves trail riding today.

Suspension

The Hightower 2.0 gets the lower driven VPP linkage treatment. Designed for increased support and traction riders will be well rewarded in rough terrain and loose corners. With no shortage of either in Australia we're excited to see this linkage upgrade on the Hightower. The rear suspension also goes up 5mm to 140mm, designed for a 150mm fork. With numbers like this the Hightower 2.0 is an all round trail weapon, capable of taking on your local enduro series yet playful and pedal efficient enough for when you need to punch out the km's.

Geometry

The geometry of the new 2020 Hightower further supports the bikes enhanced suspension capabilities. With an adjustable geometry flip chip in the lower link the head angle ranges from 65.2 - 65.5 degrees, in the low setting a large frame has a 1232mm wheelbase. Slacker and longer without pushing too far, ensuring that the bike is still nimble and poppy when needed. In recent times riders have thrived off the benefits of a steeper seat tube angle when climbing. Santa Cruz acknowledge this and steepened the seat tube angle to 76.5 degrees ensuring that you're well rewarded for your climbing efforts.

The Extras

The bike is 'one bottle ride' friendly, comfortably taking a bottle on the inside of the down tube with a piggy back shock. Unfortunately, the bike is not compatible with coil shocks or fox Float X2 shocks.

Pricing

Complete C S builds as pictured below RRP $8499.95. The Hightower 2.0 CC frame goes for RRP $5499.95 with a Rockshox Super Deluxe air shock, the perfect start for an incredible custom build. We expect these to be highly sought after so contact us today to make sure you don't miss out on your new Hightower.
