FRESH: 2020 Norco Optic Release

Posted by Chris Dalziel on

The Norco Optic gets more than a face lift for 2020, we're talking a full blown makeover. New suspension kinematics, travel, geometry and more to give this bike greater capabilities than ever before. Whatever you do, don't look at this bike like the old Optic, this mountain bike has a new purpose in life.

2020 Norco Bikes Optic Release For The Riders Brisbane

In order to keep up to date with the fast and progressive tracks we're riding on trail bikes today Norco have made a daringly fast and fun bike so suit. The 2020 Optic follows the long and slack theme that riders are now in love with due to the increased stability and confidence these angles give riders. Just because a bike has slightly shorter travel doesn't mean you can't go fast! The right geometry unlocks a whole new sense of confidence and freedom on these mid - short travel bikes.

Speaking of travel, the Optic is now equipped with 125mm rear and 140mm forks. This balance allows riders to push hard whilst still getting that energetic, lively feedback from the trail. Combined with their new suspension kinematics from their classic horst link, a custom DH tuned Rockshox air shock, you've never ridden a 125mm bike like this.

The new look Optic parts have been matched perfectly to the frames new found abilities. Rockshox Pike forks stocked across the entire range for smooth, consistent performance. 180mm rotors and four-piston brakes ensure that riders can control the bike at those high speeds. Climbing is made comfortable and easy with a steep and short seat tube giving maximum clearance to the dropper post.

Who's It For?

If you're looking for a bike that is fast, nimble and just a tonne of fun the Optic needs to be on your list. With 125mm of travel it will climb quickly and comfortably across the mountain allowing you to rack up those km's of single track. Although more than capable on rough terrain this isn't the Optic's preferred home with bikes like the Range and Sight more appropriate for the task. The Optic is at its best when you're thrashing corners, roosting, drifting and going flat out with its stable yet lively nature. So if going fast and railing corners get you excited, you should be thrilled about the new Optic.
