The Ibis Ripmo AF hit the spot for many, that Ibis quality at a sharper price point letting more riders than ever swing a leg over an Ibis bike. Now they've applied the same wining formula to their Ripley and introduced the Ripley AF.
Ibis Alloy Bikes
Ibis's introduction of alloy models into their line-up has been well received by Aussie riders and for good reason. Carbon is flashy, looks great and does have it's performance benefits in ride feel and weight over alloy models. But the Alloy models still pack some serious performance! Many races are still run and won on alloy bikes and the weight penalty isn't a big deal for all riders. In this case many of Ibis's design traits which made the brand famous have been directly applied to the alloy model, for a fraction of the carbon's price tag. It even comes with Ibis's seven year warranty still!
The Tech Numbers
The Ripley AF offers 120mm rear travel and 130mm front, just like it's carbon brother but comes in a little slacker with a 65.5 degree head angle for a more stable, fast, descending ride. Yet, this bike is about doing it all, up and down. As a result the 76 degree seat angle puts you in a comfortable, efficient pedalling position. Matched to the highly impressive and efficient DW-Link suspension design for one of the most balanced all mountain / trail bikes on the market.
Who's It For
The Ibis Ripley AF is one of the most suitable bikes for Brisbane single track riders that get out on the Daisy Hill, Cornubia, Ironbark and Gap Creek trials. It's poised to climb well yet has all you need to excel on the descents in these trail networks. Agile between the trees with enough suspension to hold a line comfortably in those rough spots. If you're looking to push the limits a little harder on the descents and prefer rough terrain, riding at places like Castle Hill, Nerang, etc. then checkout the Ripmo AF.
