It's that strange time of year where even though we're just over half way through 2020 we're getting a look at the hottest MY21 bikes already. Santa Cruz is the latest brand to drop the curtain on some of their lineup with fresh colours for MY21 across some of our most popular models.
The powerful mid travel 29" Santa Cruz Hightower has been a real standout for us. It's a dependable 140mm rear travel trail / all mountain bike that will take on all of our local Brisbane MTB terrain with ease and confidence. We're excited to see these dazzling new colours in the 'ember' and 'smoke grey' colourways.
The 'ember' is a feature in itself while the 'smoke grey' gives you the option to keep things subtle or throw some of your own colour on there, anything will match the neutral grey tone. Maybe a bright red Lyrik up front with red anodised Deity or Chromag components to match? The options for custom builds here are endless.
The Tallboy was the unsung hero of the 2020 lineup. While many riders find more glory and excitement in longer travel models the Tallboy has slack angles for it's 120mm and 130mm stature. This allows riders to push the limits of the shorter travel bike and go through challenging terrain with an added confidence you don't associate short travel 29" mountain bikes with. The drive and acceleration this short travel bike gives riders makes it potentially the best bike for Brisbane MTB flow trails we could imagine.
For MY21 the Tallboy has very unique 'Ivory' and 'Glossy Black' colour options. It doesn't matter if you're one for the dark side or light, there is a Tallboy for you.
More than just a coat of new 'Oxblood and Fog' paint, Santa Cruz have introduced their first 27.5" / 29" mixed wheel production bike, the V10 MX. The world's most infamous downhill bike has never looked so good! A 27.5" rear keeps the bike lively and agile in corners yet the 29" up front smooths out rough terrain. The best of both worlds? it's a compelling argument.
You've probably already seen the striking redesigned '5010' as well but just in case, refer to the below images.
Colours always come down to personal preference but, personally... I think these are some damn good options. We can't wait to build some of these Santa Cruz bikes up for riders to enjoy. If you're looking to ride a fresh new Santa Cruz mountain bike talk to our Brisbane based MTB experts. Considering the current global climate stock has been hard to get a hold of, we'd recommend getting in early for pre-orders where possible.
