E-mountain bikes are opening up trail networks and making riders re-think what is possible. Ride to places you;ve never thought you could or ride more trails in smaller networks in a single ride. Between us here we've had our fair share of E-bike rides all across SEQ and have come to the conclusion our favourite spot to ride is (drum roll) Hidden Vale, and here's why and how to get the most out of your experience.
Hidden Vale Adventure Park is located at 617 Grandchestermount Mort Rd, Grandchester. An 85km drive from Brisbane city the journey will reward Brisbane mountain bikers with a wide variety of trails spread over an immense area. If you're wanting to make the most of the experience and feeling rather luxurious you can even stay the night at Spicers Hidden Vale. The trail network is very spread out with some rougher climbs that demand a high level of fitness for the pedal powered riders out there but makes it the perfect place for an E-bike. By far the greatest highlight for us is the '500 Above' trail. After pedalling all the way out to the furthest and highest point of the MTB trail network you'll be rewarded with stunning views across the valley. Turn things around and drop into '500 Above' to experience an almost effortless 7km descent. The trail holds the ridge-line at the start so you can savour that view just a little longer. As the trail progresses you are met with sweeping berms, rollers and the occasional double (all with B lines) before things straighten out at the end as you increase speeds again. This ride is all about the experience and offers one of the most memorable descents in SEQ, the longest I've done.
An E-bike is right at home on Hidden Vale's extensive trail network and allows you to take in the amazing surrounds with ease.
